"Hope Cards" Project Details

The reason I chose to hand make one-hundred and twenty cards for children who were stuck in the hospital for my EDGE Project was because I have always had a strong desire to help others and I want to make a difference in at least a single life. Each card that was sent contained a unique message and design simply letting the children know that someone loves them and is thinking about them. I believe that this project helped me to feel a sense of love and concern for those suffering in the world around me. I can’t imagine how those children feel being cooped up in the hospital, so I wanted to make their stay there a little more enjoyable. The previous statement is also a reason why I want to be a neonatal or pediatric nurse in the near future.

This project will hopefully make me stand out from others who have my same major because I donated to a place where I could possibly be working in the future. This project will show future employers that I am compassionate and that I strongly care about and am able to connect with others on an emotional level. I also donated to children, so this project was directly connected to what I want to do for an occupation in the future.
